01What we store on your device
SQEase is a single-page web app, so we rely mostly on browser storage (localStorage and IndexedDB) rather than traditional cookies. UK PECR treats these the same way, so we list everything here. We only set or read non-essential storage after you opt in.
02Strictly necessary — always on
Required to sign you in, keep you signed in, and remember your cookie choice. These don't need consent. You can clear them in your browser, but doing so will log you out.
| Item | Purpose | Lifetime | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
firebaseLocalStorageDb (IndexedDB) | Keeps you signed in (Firebase Authentication) | Until you log out | SQEase / Google Firebase |
sqease_cookie_consent_v1 (localStorage) | Remembers your analytics choice | Until cleared | SQEase (1st party) |
site_access (sessionStorage) | Pre-launch access gate | Until the tab closes | SQEase (1st party) |
03Analytics — only after you opt in
If you accept, Microsoft Clarity helps us understand how the site is used (clicks, scrolls, and aggregated session insights) so we can fix problems and improve the experience. It does not load and sets no cookies until you opt in, and you can withdraw at any time.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
_clck | Clarity user ID | 1 year | Microsoft Clarity (3rd party) |
_clsk | Clarity session | 1 day | Microsoft Clarity (3rd party) |
04Cookieless analytics — no consent needed
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to measure page performance and aggregate, anonymous traffic. They set no cookies and store nothing on your device — they can't identify you or track you across sites — so PECR doesn't require consent. We mention them here for transparency.
05Payments
Checkout and billing happen on Stripe's own hosted pages, not on sqease.uk. While you're there, Stripe sets strictly-necessary fraud-prevention cookies (__stripe_mid, ~1 year; __stripe_sid, ~30 minutes) under its own cookie policy. These are required to process payments securely; they are not set on our own pages.
06Managing your choice
- Cookie settings — open the banner any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer to accept or withdraw analytics.
- Your browser — every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies and site storage.
- Account deletion — clears the data we hold for you.
07"Do Not Track"
Browser DNT signals aren't a recognised standard under UK PECR, so they don't automatically opt you out. Use "Cookie settings" for a binding choice — analytics stay off by default until you accept.
08Changes
If we add a new non-essential cookie or tracker, we'll update this page and ask for your consent before it runs.
