01What we store on your device
SQEase is a single-page web app, so we rely mostly on browser storage (localStorage and IndexedDB) rather than traditional cookies. UK PECR treats these the same way, so we list everything here. We only set or read non-essential storage after you opt in.
02Strictly necessary — always on
Required to sign you in, keep you signed in, and remember your cookie choice. These don't need consent. You can clear them in your browser, but doing so will log you out.

03Analytics — only after you opt in
If you accept, Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics help us understand how the site is used (clicks, scrolls, aggregated session insights, and which pages and referrers bring people to SQEase) so we can fix problems and improve the experience. Neither loads nor sets any cookies until you opt in, and you can withdraw at any time.

04Advertising — only after you opt in
This is a separate choice from analytics. If you turn it on, the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram ads) and the Google Ads tag tell Meta and Google which of our ads brought you here, and whether you went on to create an account, start checkout, start a free trial or subscribe on our website. That lets us see which ads work, stop paying for the ones that don't, and show our ads to people likely to find SQEase useful. These tags run on our public pages and, for those few moments only, inside the website app; they are never told your name, email or what you study. Meta and Google use this data under their own privacy policies and may combine it with what they already know about you. Nothing loads until you opt in, and you can withdraw at any time.

Meta and Google may also read or set cookies on their own domains (for example facebook.com and doubleclick.net) when these tags load. Those are described in their own cookie policies.
05Cookieless analytics — no consent needed
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to measure page performance and aggregate, anonymous traffic. They set no cookies and store nothing on your device — they can't identify you or track you across sites — so PECR doesn't require consent. We mention them here for transparency.
06Payments
Checkout and billing happen on Stripe's own hosted pages, not on sqease.uk. While you're there, Stripe sets strictly-necessary fraud-prevention cookies (__stripe_mid, ~1 year; __stripe_sid, ~30 minutes) under its own cookie policy. These are required to process payments securely; they are not set on our own pages.
07Managing your choice
- Cookie settings — open the banner any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer to accept or withdraw analytics or advertising, each on its own ("Choose").
- Your browser — every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies and site storage.
- Account deletion — clears the data we hold for you.
08"Do Not Track"
Browser DNT signals aren't a recognised standard under UK PECR, so they don't automatically opt you out. Use "Cookie settings" for a binding choice — analytics and advertising stay off by default until you accept.
09Changes
If we add a new non-essential cookie or tracker, we'll update this page and ask for your consent before it runs.
