01Cooling-off period
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel from the day you subscribe. This statutory right applies to every plan length: monthly, quarterly, 6-monthly and legacy annual alike. The cooling-off period applies when you first take out a subscription; it does not restart on each renewal.
Plans bought on our website. Cancel within those 14 days and we refund everything you paid, in full, to your original payment method within 14 days of your cancellation.
Plans bought in the iOS app. Apple is the seller and holds the payment, so this right is exercised against Apple and Apple makes the refund. Apple's cancellation form for UK customers is addressed to Apple Distribution International Ltd. Request it through the Report a Problem link on your Apple receipt, or at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple declines and you believe you are entitled to a refund under UK consumer law, email hello@sqease.uk and we will deal with it. Nothing in this policy removes a right you have by law.
02Monthly plans
After the cooling-off period, no refunds for partial months. You keep full access until the end of your current billing period.
03Quarterly plans
After the cooling-off period, pro-rated refund if you cancel within 30 days of payment (including a renewal payment) and have used fewer than 50 questions. Otherwise you keep full access until the end of the current quarter.
046-monthly plans
After the cooling-off period, pro-rated refund if you cancel within 30 days of payment (including a renewal payment) and have used fewer than 50 questions. Otherwise you keep full access until the end of the current 6-month period.
05Legacy annual plans
Annual plans are no longer sold. If you are still on one, then after the cooling-off period you qualify for a pro-rated refund if you cancel within 30 days of payment (including a renewal payment) and have used fewer than 50 questions. Otherwise you keep full access until the end of the current year.
06Service failure
Full refund for any period of material unavailability due to our fault. If you subscribed in the iOS app we cannot refund an Apple charge directly, so email hello@sqease.uk and we will either support your claim to Apple or put things right another way.
07How to cancel
Plans bought on our website. Cancel anytime in Account → Billing. Your plan remains active until the end of the current period.
Plans bought in the iOS app. Cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your device. Account → Billing cannot cancel an App Store subscription, and closing your SQEase account does not stop an Apple charge. Your plan remains active until the end of the period you have paid for.
08Who takes the payment
Our website. Payments are processed by Stripe and we are the seller. Refunds are processed within 5 to 10 business days.
The iOS app. Payments are taken by Apple, and Apple Distribution International Ltd. is the seller. We never hold your card details and cannot charge or refund you directly. Apple emails you a receipt for every charge and sets its own refund timings.
09Price changes
For plans bought on our website, price changes apply only to renewals after at least 30 days' notice.
For plans bought in the iOS app, Apple runs its own price-change notice: at least 27 days before a higher price takes effect on a monthly plan, and at least 60 days on a quarterly or 6-monthly plan. Apple asks for your consent where it requires it. Our 30-day notice does not apply on that path; Apple's notice period governs.
